Since the opening of the call for proposals in mid-November 2007, there has been high interest in the programme, coming from a variety of entities and covering most of the focus areas under the four programme priorities. As many as 62 applications have been received. Also in the pipeline are 32 Project Ideas that might end up as fully-fledged applications. These project ideas alone are way in excess of the total programme allocation (i.e. more than EUR 60 million as against the EUR 48 million available). In total, the proposals and ideas received to date go significantly beyond EUR 100 million.
Under the circumstances, there is a high probability that the open call will be suspended. The suspension will not affect those entities who will already have sent in their application or Project Idea Form. Nor will it affect NGOs.
The relevant announcement will be posted on this site, most likely within the next three to four weeks.
