On February 11, a regional seminar took place in Pamporovo, Bulgaria, for presenting the two financial instruments, namely the Norwegian Cooperation Programme and the EEA Financial Mechanism. The event was organised by the municipality of Smolyan in co-operation with Innovation Norway, Ministry of Finance and the Royal Norwegian Embassy.

More than 100 participants, representing municipalities, NGOs, public institutions and private companies attended the seminar.
The Embassy (Mr. Tor Martin Møller – Charge d'Affaires a.i.) opened the seminar and underlined the important role of the programmes that will contribute to increasing economic and social relations between Bulgaria and Norway. Innovation Norway (Ms. Anne Lise Rognlidalen - Commercial Counsellor) and the Ministry of Finance (Ms. J. DInkova, Head of Unit) provided information on procedures, target groups, roles and responsibilities of the different stakeholders. The seminar was chaired by Ms. D.Yankova, Mayor of Smolyan. During the workshops the participants discussed project ideas in the scope of the following priority sectors: Environment\ Energy efficiency and Cultural heritage.
A press conference preceding the seminar was held with journalists from local media (radio and newspapers).
