Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, including Joint Implementation projects under the Kyoto protocol, and other emissions in air and water
  • Reduce and prevent emissions of greenhouse gases.  Improvement of technology and processes, capacity building, regulations and monitoring. Analysis of impacts of climate change and measures to adapt to climate change.
  • Reduce and prevent pollution of air and water and stimulating the use of new environmental technology.
  • Waste management and safe handling of hazardous substances.

Energy efficiency and renewable energy

 

  • Promotion of energy efficiency within important sectors, e.g production, construction, transport and household
  • Promotion of renewable energy
  • Upgrading of energy systems and heating systems, including the use of combined heat and power
  • Establishment of energy centres, networks and institutional cooperation
  • Research and development of technology within the energy sector
  • Improvement of the Nuclear safety
Facilitating sustainable production, including certification and verification
  • Improvements of technology and processes (including IT solutions) in all sectors
  • Organizational development, risk management, certification/verification (quality, health and safety, environment)
  • Systems for strengthening competences and capacity building within maritime sector
  • Activities promoting the environment within tourism
Implementation of Schengen acquis, support of national Schengen Plans as well as strengthening the judiciary
  • Development of an integrated communication system for the Ministry of Interior
  • Competence building and strengthening police cooperation.
